Evernote: The digital sketchbook

This semester we will be using analog sketchbooks (paper) as well as digital ones. For the digital sketchbook you will be using Evernote. Here’s a description of what Evernote does as taken from their site:

Keep everything in sync

With Evernote, all of your notes, web clips, files and images are made available on every device and computer you use.

Remember things you like

Save everything cool and exciting you see online and in the real world. Snap a photo, record some audio and save it.

Save favorite webpages

Save entire webpages to your Evernote account with our nifty browser extensions. You get the whole page: text, images and links.

Use case illustration

Take notes anywhere.

You’re always moving, your notes should be too. With Evernote, your memories are on every computer, phone and device you use.

Use case illustration

Work with friends and colleagues.

Share your notes and collaborate on projects with friends, colleagues and classmates.

Plan your next trip.

Keep all of your itineraries, confirmations, scanned travel documents, maps, and plans in Evernote, so you’ll have them when you need them.

Please go sign up for an account right now. There is a desktop application for both Mac and Windows, as well as Android and Iphone. I would highly advise setting these up if you have these devices as it will allow you to add to your sketchbook even using your iPhone’s camera. Really nice!

We will install Evernote during the first week of class. Once you have it installed, be sure to share me and Jeremiah on the notebook you create for the class. That way we can have access to your notes.
